Under the Shade of the Trees

Favorite type of morning hike – Walking along the trail under the shade of the trees while looking out at the bright morning sun shining over the marsh.

Watching Without Imposing

This deer seemed just as  curious of us as we were of her at the Friendship Botanic Gardens.  I sighed in relief and happiness that she stayed long enough for me to get a shot even if it is not super sharp.

One More Second

Often, I come across rabbits while hiking along the trails but they quickly hop away.  Badly wanting this rabbit as a focal point for my shot, I found myself whispering as I approached very slowly,

“Just hold still for one more second. . . . please?”

Center of Attention

Among the sweeping number of daisies blooming along the trail, one stood out as if demanding to be the center of attention.

A Trail to Remember

After hiking both trails at Pinhook Bog in Michigan City, IN., I left wanting to go back again.  And I have gone back, over and over again.  Neither trail is too difficult and both go through a beautiful forest. Either one is a trail to remember.
